How to Choose Your Wedding Flowers!

First check that the Flowers are in Season document (seasonal flower calendar); this will give you a guide as to which flowers are in season at different points of the year. Bear in mind this is a “GUIDE ONLY”, Mother Nature can also affect what flowers are available.

  • Start collecting ones you like and put them in a folder
  • What about some one else’s wedding?

  • Have a search on the internet you can get a great idea from using Google Images and

  • Do you want a traditional or modern flower arrangement
  • Would you prefer Trailing, Tear drop wedding flower, modern or natural stem bouquets

    Do you or your groom or anyone in the bridal party have allergies or are sensitive to beautiful smelling wedding flowers?

  • Hayfever etc?
  • What colour is your wedding dress?

  • Do you have a sample of the colour or a picture of the dress?
  • Bring it with you to show (colours vary, so this helps to match colours to flowers)
  • What colour are the bridesmaids dresses?

  • Do you have a sample of the colour or a picture of the bride’s maids dress?
  • Again bring it with you to show
  • Have you thought about having a flower girls?

  • If so, how old are the flower girls?
  • Keep in mind that most young little flower girls will swing and pluck the wedding flowers
  • This helps with the selection of flowers, baskets size etc
  • Have you thought (bride) about flowers for your hair?

    Have you thought about the bridesmaids or flower girls having flowers for their hair?

    Have you thought about corsages for the mothers / grandmothers?

  • If so, do you know what they are wearing?
  • What colours?
  • Lace or material? Some corsages are a little heavy for a soft lace dress.
  • So, have you thought of a bag spray instead?
  • Or, What about a wrist spray?
  • Have you thought about the Men at the wedding?

  • Would you like the men to have a button holes?
  • What colour suite & tie are they wearing?
  • Also, What about the Bride & Groom fathers?

  • Where are they going to sit on?
